In the following pages I am going to illustrate the various methods of the English Qaballa. I am going to keep strictly to an analysis of one name, JESUS, as he is the God that the West is most familiar with. For the past 2000 years we have been in the Aeon of Christ. A period when Christ’s Laws have been learned and assimilated. The Book of the Law mentions Jesus once. Any impression that because he is only mentioned once Jesus is unimportant to the new Aeon must be discarded.

1.The first method of Qaballa is simply counting the value of a name, phrase, sentence etc, and comparing with others of the same value. The number is the primary idea rather than the names or concepts that they resonate. JESUS=68. In EQ 6=LAW and 8=0 or infinity. Therefore we may say that 68 is Infinite Law, and Jesus is a resonance or expression of this Law. JESUS = 68 = LIFE, CHANGE. It is certainly true that the infinite law is LIFE and CHANGE. The infinite law of life is change, nothing remains the same. The life of Jesus illustrates to the initiate how life and change proceed. Jesus led a life of sacrifice illustrating that to move forward in time something must be sacrificed. To change one form of energy to another, some of that original energy must be sacrificed in the change.

2.The only place that Jesus is mentioned in Al is in Chapter 3 verse 51, ‘‘I peck at the eyes of Jesus as he hangs upon the cross.’’ Note that the word ‘HANGS’ means that he still hangs on the cross. This is quite precise, it means that Jesus hangs on the cross throughout all eternity, and throughout eternity I (=23) the pseudo self tries to blind Jesus. ‘I’ in this sense is Horus the Hawk God. There is no grace or guilt implicit in this statement, it is a simple fact. It is simply an illustration of one of the laws of nature. PECK = 73 = POWER. This could be ‘‘I power the eyes of Jesus.’’ How can these two ideas be reconciled? On the one hand to peck implies damage to the eyes of Jesus, how could this give Jesus power? It is only by resistance that any phenomena can occur. If there is no resistance phenomena will pass straight through that state until it meets a resistance. In this case Horus pecking the Eyes of Jesus means that Horus is the resistance to Jesus and there is no grace or guilt in this statement, it is a fact of nature. PECK = 73 = SATURN the Lord of Time. This makes Jesus not subject to time but beyond it, but at the same time he exists and can never be degraded. THE EYES OF JESUS = 216 = VENUS + NEPTUNE. ‘‘I peck at Venus-Neptune.’’ The planet Neptune is the planet of the mystic. The Eyes of Jesus are the eyes of the mystic in that any mystic must, if he is to be successful, look at life with the Eyes of Jesus and those eyes are synonymous with the influence of Venus-Neptune. This means that Horus is the enemy of the mystic. This is hardly surprising because Horus is the God of action, not for him the gentle eyes of Jesus. The Avenging Horus, crimson in his glory, does the will of his mother Isis-Scorpio whereas Jesus does the gentle will of his mother Mary. A lot more could be written on this subject but the digression would be too great for the scope of this treatise.

3.The third method of our Qaballa is the method where the first letters of each word in a sentence are added together. This indicates how the process indicated by the sentence will begin. Just as adding the last letters of each word of a sentence will tell you how the expression will end. The sentence will express what will occur between the beginning and the end. To remain within our guidelines we must find a sentence whose initials add to 68. ‘‘This shall regenerate the world,’’ T+S+R+T+W 24+5+12+24+3 = 68. The beginning of the regeneration of the world will be with Jesus. The world will finally be regenerated by the value of the last letter of each word which is S+L+E+E+D 5+2+25+25+6 = 63 = VIRGO. The regeneration of the world will be completed by the virgin mother of Christ who in her deepest mystical sense is the great Goddess Nuit. To further illustrate this method consider the phrase in Chapter 1 verse 22, ‘‘To Him By A Secret Name.’’ 24+4+20+1+5+14 = 68 = JESUS. The one who knows the secret name in the beginning is JESUS, and who will know the name in the end? For the answer to this we must calculate the value of the final letters: ‘‘tO hiM bY A secreT namE,’’ 7+21+15+1+24 = 93. The one who will know the name in the end will have 93 for the value of his name. At present 93 is the value of the word of the Law, who is the one to come whose value is 93. Apropos of this it is known by EQ that the one to come will be born with the Sun in Regulus. Yet another example of this is in Chapter 2 verse 15, ‘‘For I Am Perfect.’’ F I A P = 68 = JESUS. PERFECT=143 = JUPITER. Jesus begins the cycle of perfection. The idea of perfection is implicit in the benefic planet Jupiter. How will this perfection end and what will it evolve into? Again we use the last letters of the phrase, R I M T = 80. In Chapter 1 verse 46 it is said that 80 = Nothing. This is an affirmation of the formula 0 -- + (Calvary cross) 0, the formula of how an idea must ultimately obsess a medium, the basis upon which the magic of manifestation works. Using this method of Qaballa one can divine many of the secrets of the mysteries.

4.This method of Qaballa involves reversing the number to find the reward of that number. This method is revealed in the verse ‘‘Abrahadabra! The reward of Ra Hoor Khut.’’ Abrahadabra = 79, Ra Hoor Khut = 97. 97 is the reverse of 79. The reward of Jesus 68 is 86. Some of the simpler more easy to understand words of the value 86 are MERCY THRONE CREEDS COURAGE IMAGES TREES. These are all ideas implicit in Christianity and need no further elucidation. Incidentally if we play around with VENUS = 71 we get the HAWK = 17, anyone who has exposed themselves to this lady will well know the scars that the Talons of the Hawk have made on them for their foolishness.

In giving the various methods of our Qaballa it has been important that I give nothing away regarding the initiated mysteries of Thelema and yet at the same time illustrate the validity of the system. The choice of JESUS as a name to study will not only shed light on the past Aeon but will indicate the continued presence and importance of Jesus in our present Aeon and all aeons to come. The fact that the whole world now knows the meaning of Jesus and his message is a proof that his work is completed. The message of Christ is etched into the world consciousness. The old Aeon was concerned with CHANGE = JESUS. Change is implicit in ideas of progress, that is, that the idea of evolution will make things better. We know now that this may not be so. We also know that change is the formula of life but the mechanism of that formula is not uniform or indeed logical, but proceeds according to the 93 formula of unity by denial or division by affirmation. Thus what may be impossible logically must exist by necessity. A bird has feathers because it shouldn’t. It is impossible that an evolutionary system could sustain such an event as giving a creature feathers, but for the joy of life it is necessary that it be so. This is how life 68 proceeds, anything that can’t happen normally - that is impossible outlandish or ludicrous, must happen in 93. ‘‘That which is above is like unto that which is below for the performance of the miracle of the one substance,’’ but that one substance is of the nature of neither, any more than a mirror image is the image itself, it is the reverse, it is everything that the image is not, ALLA, but again I digress into realms that have the habit of making the universe drop to bits.
