AL Ch. 2 V. 76 IN GRADE 5=6.

When reading the following exposition the question ’Why is all this important and what possible use could it be’ arises. The answer is that what follows is a theoretical explanation of a practical magical system that is as simple to perform as marking the time. It is not necessary to understand why it works but if we are to comprehend the inner workings of existence we must have recourse to its theoretical ramifications. The one who understands why is a magician and one who simply works the system without understanding is a sorcerer. This is not to imply grace or guilt but a difference in Grades, after all we were all sorcerers once. But to work with Ch.2 v. 76 and its Qaballa is to enter the thought stream of the infinite resulting in a refinement of consciousness that is required by anyone who would claim to be a prophet of the New Aeon.

To understand any proposition in the Book of the Law one first finds its numerical value and then compare the proposition and numerical value with the same numbers throughout the Book. This will give a commentary on the central proposition through numbers and symbols. For instance the word Abrahadabra has the value 79 and is found in three places in Al. ’’..and Abrahadabra’’ when referring to the secret keys. (Ch. 3 v. 1) ‘‘Abrahadabra the reward of Ra Hoor Khut’’.(end of Ch. 3) ’’ The ending of the words is the word Abrahadabra’’. With English Qaballa it is very unwise to approach the words in Al with any preconceived ideas derived from Crowley et al. It may seem arrogant but Crowley knew very little about the true meaning of Al, as he himself was inclined to admit in his less desperate moments. The Book itself says time and time again that he does not understand it yet he tried again and again to explain it via other Qaballas. He used Hebrew, Greek, Arabic and any other numerical system to make the Book of the Law conform to his ideas, if it didn’t work in one qaballa he simply banged away until he found a system that fitted in with what he wanted. This activity served more to obscure the realities and mysteries than to explain them. Getting back to ABRAHADABRA. Ch. 3 v. 1 ‘‘ABRAHADABRA(=79) The reward(=59) of Ra Hoor Khut(=97)’’. Both Abrahadabra and Ra Hoor Khut consist of the numbers 7 & 9. 7 is the number of the Goddess and 9 the number of Yesod which rules the sex organs so we may conclude that both refer to the sex organs of the Goddess from or more correctly they are the names of the sex organs of the Goddess from two different directions 79 - 97. This idea is further confirmed by the word REWARD = 59. This number is the value of YONI a word found elsewhere in class A. Ra Hoor Khut = 97 = PISCES )-( a female sexual symbol, the last sign of the Zodiac. Ch. 3 (end) ‘‘The ending of the words is the word Abrahadabra’’. ENDING=93. 93 is a very significant number in Al. UNITY and DIVIDE both have the value 93, so we may conclude that Abrahadabra is the divine sexuality that unites and divides the Goddess, born out by the fact that it begins and ends the third chapter and is referred to as a secret key.

So where do we go from here? Abrahadabra ends some very important words, to understand further we must find out what words are referred to. To my mind the most significant reference to words in Al is in Ch. 2 v. 76:’’AYE LISTEN TO THE NUMBERS AND THE WORDS.’’ v. 76 continues with a series of incomprehensible numbers and letters together with a statement saying that he - presumably Crowley- would not understand its meaning. To understand Ch. 2 v. 76 one must follow out the instructions for its meaning to be abstracted from all the references in Al but an outline of its meaning is given in TNE/BJM,Vol6,p.1. In this Article reference is made to the two trees given by the numbers and the words but no mention is made of the complete elucidation of the numbers and words in the 93 part of the system LGMOR3YX We know that this section divide(s)93 the two trees but how is not explained and it is in the explanation of this division that opens up and reveals most of the magical secrets of Al. It would be true to say that Ch. 2 v. 76 is the source or the wellspring of Al, everything is explained by it and most of the ideas refer to it. We are to regard Abrahadabra and Ra Hoor Khut as the sex organs of Nuit acting to absorb and to expel. L = 2 G = 11 = HAD M = 21 O = 0R = 12 3 = 3Y = YX = X HAD is given in 93 as the letter G which is the first symbol upwards from the Abrahadabra-Ra Hoor Khut complex. One may conclude that Had is expelled upwards from the sex organ of Nuit explaining the clause ‘‘Had the manifestation of Nuit’’. The letter or number which follows is L = 2 = duality. This duality is already prefaced in the number eleven 11 but now as it reaches the next plane it naturally takes the form of a wave, all that exists can ultimately be described as a wave form and Ch. 2 v. 76 confirms this principle as does the rest of Al.

The similarity between some of the numbers and letters is striking and this is a case in point. L = 2 : L and 2 have the same general shape except 2 consists of two arcs and L is two lines horizontally and vertically. This idea continues with the Malkuth and Kether of the top tree where the two arcs become )( of Pisces = 97 = Ra Hoor Khut. With the top tree and the centre of 93 we have a total of 3 - Ra Hoor Khut = Pisces = Nothing. The proposition of these being three different types of nothing tends to outrage reason and would give even a Zen Buddhist a headache trying to comprehend it. To my mind there is only one totally undifferentiated NOTHING so we have real problems with trying to conceptualise the top tree and that which divides it from the bottom one as they both spring from and begin and end with 97 = NOTHING but being well and truly beyond manifestation and therefore not subject to the dimensional problems of space that we mere humans are lumbered with. I suppose it is reasonable to have nothing popping up all over the place, actually the qaballistic explanation of this is reasonably simple but we will not deal with it here but a hint should help the intrepid. O can either be a number or a letter. OOO could be written if considered as letters as 777 7 is the value of the letter O - but I digress. Suffice to say there is absolutely no way of comprehending the division 93 or the top tree without becoming nothing oneself through meditation and when one does that the concept of more than one Zero is totally without importance in the vastness of the vision of simply NOTHING.

The unmanifest of the bottom tree consists of R = 12 3 = 3 Y = Y X = X. R=12 is part of (21)12 ABRAHADABRA 3 is Ain Soph Aur Y is Ain Soph X is Ain in Hebrew Qaballa. 3 nothings then become three somethings, three interferences in non-existence which produce in their turn three directions Y and then four X or + the letter x or the symbol of the cross which as all qaballists know is resumed as a symbol on every sphere of the middle pillar. From Y we get 3 dimensions that generate a fourth expressed in + or x. The numerical value of x = 22, the number of paths on the manifest tree of life. X is very significant in Al and is well worth a digression,( as if I needed an excuse!!!)

The Ordeal X is a process one must go through if one is to comprehend the mysteries of Al with any degree of understanding and remain with even a semblance of what is known as sanity. The (ordeal X) = 75 = BEAST. The ordeal X then is also the ordeal of the beast; what beast - and horses, cows and other beasties spring to mind but we would be wrong as Crowley was wrong, to understand the word beast we must do a quick qaballistic analysis. BEAST means literally BE AS T where T = 24 = GOD. Therefore to be a BEAST one must BE AS GOD (T) and to be God we must transcend manifestation enter the nothing at X and receive the initiation of the ordeal experienced when we try and reconcile being with non being on our return to manifestation. This is a bad experience, a really bad experience. People who have gone through the ordeal X have become very wobbly for a very long time, some like Crowley himself wobbled and wobbled until they fell off the world all together, a not uncommon state of affairs with opportunistic Thelemites.

L = 2--G = 11- = 34 = LEO M = 21- O = 7-- = 41 R = 123 = 3 Y = YX = X

The numbers 41 and 418 are found throughout the Book of the Law. The value of Ch. 2 v. 76 ‘‘AYE LISTEN TO THE NUMBERS & THE WORDS’’ is 418 and the first word AYE = 41 indicating that 41 and 418 are of paramount importance in connection with the numbers and the words that are in v. 76. In v. 76 the phrase ‘‘THOU KNOWEST NOT NOR SHALT THOU KNOW EVER’’ = 410 again containing these significant numbers. The end of the whole book ends with the word HA = 4 and 1 and yet there are very few words in Al that have this value: AWFUL AYE DOTH HAVE HER IF SAVE WEAR WHOLE & YEA. If we take the value of the division above Zero and make O manifest as its numerical value we get O=7 the primary number of the Goddess expressed in such names as NUIT = 78 = 7Goddess to infinity8 and 71 = unity of the Goddess 71 = VENUS. Adding this 7 to the other numbers 7+21+11+2 = 41. This is the value of the words IF and HER in Al. The expressions of the female in Al are very important because they represent the activities of the Goddess on different levels i.e. ONE = WOMAN 34 = SHE HER = 41.

It is very easy to identify 71 as VENUS and thus 718 as Venus to infinity but what of 41 and 418 ‘‘the name of his house’’ why is the number 41 important? and what is its manifestation in the universe. The words IF and HER do not indicate anything obvious. There is no planet or star that adds to 41 so the next step is to analyse the symbol 41. 4 can be the four worlds or the four elements and 1 is ONE = woman. The woman of the four worlds or elements could be ideographed by a cross in a circle, a symbol replete with meaning: The Holy Graal, the earth, Isis etc etc are all symbolised by the cross in the circle but what is the root meaning. When we have a problem symbol it is always wisest to examine Astrology the most dynamic symbol system of them all. In Astrology we find that Fortuna has this symbol. Fortuna is the only factor in Astrology that can only give good, it cannot afflict. It would seem a very apt symbol for a supreme and beneficent Goddess. Incidentally this symbol is given in the text of Al  as a secret key to the book. It would seem reasonable that the crosses of the central pillar of the tree of life should have their origin in the unmanifest, and as the central pillar is a direct path from the unmanifest to manifestation the power coming down will simply be a concretion into form of the direct will of the Goddess. This is Fortuna = 93, a word not known in Al but the symbol certainly is, thus justifying our pursuing this line of enquiry. The part of Fortune in Astrology known to Thelemic initiates as Isis Fortuna or I.F. is actually the activity of the Supreme Goddess in the Zodiac. Its effect is opposite to that of Scorpio, where Scorpio removes phenomena from this world I.F. brings ideal phenomena to this world. So when a planet in Astrology conjuncts I.F. then the ideal of that planet is manifest. As I.F. only conjuncts each planet for a matter of minutes it is important that the calculation is made accurately. Incidentally SCORPIO = 93 FORTUNA = 93 the value of DIVIDE and UNITY and MOTHER etc. The primary symbol being the unmanifest link between the two trees, thus further corroborating our thesis. There are no numbers or words between the two trees of life.

The value of LGMOR3YX is 93 in E.Q. which equals Mother, Virgin, divide, unity, etc: symbolising the source of all life. The whole of existence emanates from O = NOTHING = RA HOOR KHUT = PISCES. L = 2 G = 11 M = 2193 O = 0 R = 12 3 = 3 Y = Y X = X. In Chapter 3 v. 1 it states ‘‘ABRAHADABRA the reward of RA HOOR KHUT’’. ABRA HAD ABRA 34 11 34. The number 34 is interesting. It is the value of Leo and Two. So ABRAHADABRA may be sigilised 2-11-2 which are the numbers that revolve around O of the Mother. ABRAHADABRA = 79 = HEAVEN - an indication that heaven also revolves around Nothing - the Reward of RA HOOR KHUT = 97. 9 is Yesod 7 the number of the Goddess. Yesod rules the sex organs therefore 97 indicates the sex organs of the Goddess symbolised by Pisces = 97 = RA HOOR KHUT. The value of ABRAHADABRA is 79 the reverse of 97, again the sex organs of the Goddess as is Heaven 79.

The creation myths of Al are reflected in 93 i.e. ‘‘None breathed the light Faint and faery of the stars and two.’’ On the tree above nothing exists (the archetypes) and below the tree is the physiology of man. The creation of Manifestation (200) depends upon the Goddess dividing 3 Y X ‘‘for love’s sake’’ to create the dimensions that are reflected in chromosomes X Y etc. ‘‘The ENDING (=93) of the words is the word ABRAHADABRA.’’ The Mother-Virgin-Unity-divide of the words is ABRAHADABRA as indeed it does because it divides and unites the two trees and in the Virgin93 Mother93 of Kether expressed in CH. 3 v. 2 as ‘‘there is division (111) hither homeward’’=79=ABRAHADABRA= Heaven.

RA HOOR KHUIT = 120 - these numbers are again at the centre 21 O 12 and we are told to ‘‘raise the spell’’ = 60 = DEATH. They must raise Ra Hoor Khuit from the death spell of the old aeon before the truth can be told. The first word of Ch. 3 v. 3 is ‘‘Now’’ = 24 = GOD, and it proceeds to give the nature of the third chapter. Ch. 3 v. 47 ’’..one cometh after him (= 48 - i.e., 49) who shall discover (=101) the key to it all.’’ From Nothing we get O 12 = R 3 123 is the value of I AM NUIT = TEMPLE = THREEFOLD = PINNACLES. Ch. 2 v. 76 ‘‘There cometh one to follow THEE (=78) he shall expound it.’’ the one that follows 78 is 79 and 79 is the value of ABRAHADABRA who expounds or reveals manifestation. EXPOUND = 117 the value of GEMINI the Kether of the lower sphere.

LG = 41 = HER = IF (Isis-Fortuna) MO also contains the supreme mantra OM = 28 = WORD. OMG = 39 = YOU.123 - THREE = GO! YX The concepts of the Goddess NUIT are an emphatic Zero i.e. NUIT = 78 - 7=O and 8=Z. 8 in the Book of the Law is infinity so Nuit is Nothing to infinity. Her sexuality is expressed by the name RA HOOR KHUT = 97 = Pisces = NOTHING = 97. ‘‘NOTHING is a secret key of this law’’. NOTHING or RA HOOR KHUT is the source of manifestation and is the beginning and end of the top tree - all things spring from nothing. The top tree manifests LGMOR3YX from O, there are 3 characters on one side and 4 on the other. If there were 3 on both sides manifestation could not occur, it would balance. (See the Judgment Hall of Osiris for details). Ch. 2 v. 76 states ‘‘Listen to the numbers and the words’’ i.e. add Listen =93 to the numbers and words, but they cannot exist beyond Kether therefore 93 is not added to LGMOR3YX. AYE = 41 = LGMO Ch. 2 v. 75 = 418 or Infinite 41 41 = IF = HER

21 O12 = 121 = ‘‘O CHOSEN ONE’’ = CAPRICORN. 202 = ‘‘WHAT MEANETH THIS‘‘ (Ch. 2 v. 76).21 + 12 = 33’’NOR SHALT THOU KNOW EVER’’ 33 33 ‘‘THOU KNOWEST NOT NOR SHALT THOU KNOW EVER’’ = 410 i.e. 41 = LGMO and 0 the high aspect of Zero. Ch. 1 v. 21 ‘‘With the God and the Adorer I am NOTHING they are AS (=6=LAW) upon the earth I am HEAVEN (=ABRAHADABRA=79) and there is NO OTHER (=93=LGMOR3YX) God than me and my lord Hadit’’.

Ch. 1 v. 22 ‘‘NOW (=24=GOD) therefore I am known to ye by MY NAME (=97=RA HOOR KHUT) Nuit and to him by a secret NAME’’ (=61=AIN in Hebrew). AIN = 61 means nothing = 97 = Ra Hoor Khut. Ch. 1 v. 48 ‘‘Are not they the ox (circle & cross, Fortuna) and none by the Book’’. Ch. 1 v. 66 ‘‘THE MANIFESTATION OF NUIT IS AT AN END’’ AN END = 60 = NONE (breathed the light...) Ch. 2 v. 3 ‘‘In the SPHERE (=97) I am everywhere the CENTRE (=113) as SHE(=34=LEO) the circumference is NOWHERE (=90) found. 21 O R =12 = SO --yin/yang symbol.

The rituals of I.F. are simple invocations and spells using the symbols perfumes geometrical shapes herbs etc associated with the planets conjuncted and the results will be consistent with the planet involved. It is wise to use only Venus, Jupiter, and the Dragon’s Head as the other planets can be very disruptive to most glopped out egos. When invoking for a specific purpose the magician must state quite specifically what he or she wants and be aware that the Gods have got quite a wicked sense of humour. There are many instances of rituals producing the most ridiculous results being literally what the magician asked for. The author knows an individual, who, not being very accomplished in magick invoked some fairies to give him money. He thought nothing more of it. The following day he went to the Bank to withdraw some money, it being Christmas, only to find all the Bank staff dressed up as Christmas fairies: he quite literally was given money by fairies. With Venus, Jupiter and the Dragon’s Head the results are only amusing but with the rest of the planets the MANIFESTATION produced can be very disruptive, particularly the Sun, Saturn, Mars, Pluto, Neptune and Uranus. Jupiter I.F. conjunctions manifest powers increasing wealth and creating harmony etc. The Dragon’s Head will manifest both the attributes of Venus and Jupiter. Venus I.F. conjunctions manifest the power of Venus and can be used for spells involving the love of ladies etc. If the ritual is performed as an act of worship of Isis or the Gods then one will easily see these Gods on the Astral and apprehend their power in the place of working. The result will be that the individual will be blessed with the benefic powers of the planet conjuncted but remember that if there is a get out clause in your invocation most planetary spirits will grab it.
